The majority of our casting is done in-house; we occasionally use external Casting Directors for specific productions.
Auditions for professional adult roles across all our productions are advertised on Spotlight.
Our casting process takes place at varied points throughout the year.
Any principal roles that are available will be advertised on Spotlight.
We receive a large number of submissions each year (over 5,500 last season), so we are unfortunately unable to invite everyone to audition. We do appreciate and value every application we receive.
Between May and July, local auditions are held at each pantomime venue for local Ensemble only. Those attending must be aged 16 or above (over licensing age and completed GSCE’s), and must live within 25 miles of the theatre’s postcode.
For dates of this year’s local auditions and the specific criteria required, please see below.
After the local auditions, we normally hold a London audition day in August for professional dancers. This audition is advertised on Spotlight and attendance is by invitation only.
We are looking for ensemble members who may be required to cover principal roles.
Auditionees MUST be aged 16 or over (Over licensing Age and completed GCSE’s) and be able to have time off from work / college for the duration of the contract.
A high standard of both ballet and jazz is required.
Strong acting & vocal skills required for covering Principal roles.
No time off during rehearsals or performances are permitted.
Rehearsal and performance fees will vary, depending on age.
All auditionees need to live within 25 miles of the theatre’s postcode; travel and relocation fees are not included in the contract.
