Three Decades of Storytelling, Built with Pride

Martin first worked in the business as a stand-up comic and a dancer. However after leaving Loughborough University with a Master of Science degree and a large overdraft he moved into theatre and event management. For more than 30 years Martin has been responsible for producing all of UK Productions shows nationally, internationally, in the West End, and on Broadway. In addition to his producing credits for UK Productions, Martin has worked on a number of unique events including the Nations 50th Anniversary of D-Day commemorations for Her Majesty’s Government, the Tour de France in the south of England, and Portsmouth’s 800th anniversary and VE day celebrations. Martin managed the 1500 seat Guildford Civic Theatre and the 2228 seat Portsmouth Guildhall and was responsible for moving the management of the latter and its associated Outdoor Event Management programme into the private sector in 1995.

After directing various projects for UK Productions over 10 years, Damian now works for the company on a full time basis to lead, inspire and deliver the next phase of our journey to create innovative, imaginative and outstanding theatre.
Damian trained at Oxford University (BA, English Literature & Language) and Arts Educational (MA, Creative Practice in Musical Theatre).
His UKP credits include: The Kite Runner (Associate Director, West End / UK & International Tours); Oklahoma! (Assistant Director, UK Tour); several pantomimes including the very first production of Beauty and the Beast (Blackpool Grand); Cinderella (nominated, Best Director at the Great British Pantomime Awards); Sleeping Beauty (Basingstoke); Aladdin (Malvern).
With The Kite Runner, Damian was Associate Director for the Broadway production, playing at the Hayes Theater, as well as Associate Director for both the North America tour and the recent UK and Ireland tour.
In recent years, Damian has developed live stage performances of television programmes, including the sold-out Neighbours Celebration Tour, playing to 32,000 people across the UK’s finest venues and in Melbourne, as well as the UK tour of Toad On The Road with its Australian star, Ryan Moloney. Most recently, he directed the UK tour of An Audience with Coronation Street and James Martin: Around The World (UK tour).
Damian has also been responsible for seventeen years of the annual Whatsonstage Awards (Prince of Wales / Palace Theatre / London Palladium) as Director and Co-Producer, celebrating theatre all across the UK and working with multiple Olivier award winning actors and actresses.
Damian’s directing credits also include: When Midnight Strikes (nominated for Best Musical Production in the Off West End Awards); the London revival of tick, tick...Boom! (Union Theatre); West Side Story (Theatre Royal, Windsor for Bill Kenwright Ltd); Dick Whittington (Beck Theatre, Winner - Best Pantomime, 2014); six seasons of NewsRevue (Canal Café Theatre); I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (both Edinburgh Festival and subsequent London transfer); Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Birthday Celebrations); 42nd Street, Honk! (Bridewell Theatre); Twelve Angry Men, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Ready Ay Ready Productions).
For over a decade, he directed the Edinburgh Festival smash hit, sell-out Shakespeare For Breakfast (winner of Best Comedy, 2017), including two London transfers, as well as devising and directing its spin-off, Dickens For Dinner (Winner of Best Comedy, 2018). In addition to this, Damian has directed and produced 50 other productions at the Edinburgh Festival.
Damian has directed the premiere productions of many new musicals or workshops, including the world premieres of: Equally (Cockpit Theatre); You Know How To Love Me (The Other Palace); The Poltergeist of Cock Lane (C venues); Don’t Tell Grandma (Chiswick Playhouse); Just Pretend (Putney Arts); Lia’s Guide To Winning The Lottery (Perfect Pitch); London Street (ArtsEd).
Assistant/Resident credits include: Gary Barlow and Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls the Musical (UK and Ireland Tour); the UK and International tour of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; Associate/Resident on the UK premiere of Little Women the Musical (LOST Theatre); Me And My Girl (London Palladium); Legally Blonde (Aberystwyth Arts Centre); Into The Woods (Upstairs at the Gatehouse); Kiss of the Spider Woman (ArtsEd); David Mamet’s The Shawl (Canal Café Theatre); The Railway Children (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane).
He also worked on the world premiere of The Witches of Eastwick (Theatre Royal Drury Lane for Cameron Mackintosh) and the National Theatre’s UK tour of Honk!

Sandra is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the leisure industry. She retired from her full-time role as Chief Executive of one of the largest leisure management contractors in 2020 and is delighted to be going back to her roots as a finance professional. Sandra brings a wealth of finance experience to the business having previously served on a board as Finance Director for 15 years. During this time, she was responsible for the finance function for a business with a turnover in excess of £150m and raised a significant amount of debt for new projects.

Andy has been with UK Productions since its very first tour of Barnum in 1995. A graduate in mathematics from Surrey University, where he spent two years as sabbatical Arts/Entertainment’s Officer, Andy moved straight to the newly formed promotion company ‘Flying Music’. There he stayed for nearly eight years as resident Production/Company Manager whilst the company grew into one of the largest concert promoters in the UK. During this time Andy worked with a wide range of artists including Franki Valli, Marti Webb, Elaine Page, Gary Numan, The Monkees, Smokey Robinson, and Neil Sedaka. It was while touring with Flying Music that he first met Martin Dodd in his role as a theatre manager.Following a spell as a freelance production manager during which time Andy worked for such artists as Joe Longthorne and Shakin’ Stevens both in the UK and overseas, he renewed his contact with Martin at the fledgling UK Productions and has been in charge of their busy and expanding production department ever since.

Elizabeth is a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama having gained a BA Hons. in Theatre Practice specialising in costume design, prior to which she completed a foundation course in art and design at the London College of Fashion.Prior to joining UK Productions full time, she has worked freelance on plays such as The Rose Tattoo, The Ghost Train, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Real Thing and King Lear. She has worked in costume construction for both Theatre and TV and completed tours with Irie! Dance Company and Summer Holiday 2003.She worked in a variety of roles for UK Productions- wardrobe supervisor, wardrobe mistress and costume maker – on the company’s back-catalogue of musicals and pantomimes and has experienced all aspects of the costume department. Having successfully designed and supervised Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 2004, Elizabeth became Head of Wardrobe for UK Production’s ever expanding costume department and workshop, designing, providing and supervising the costumes for the touring musicals whilst also producing costumes for the extensive list of pantomimes.

As Executive Pantomime Director, Anthony oversees all of the Creative teams in the build-up to and during the pantomime season. In 2003, Jon graduated with a degree in Technical Theatre from Mountview Theatre School, London. He immediately secured a job as a Theatre Carpenter in the busy Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, which included producing sets as well as working on incoming productions.
After 2005, Jon left theatre to hone his Carpentry skills in the exhibition industry, creating and installing exhibition stands all around the UK and Europe.

After a decision to go freelance in 2007, Jon joined UK Productions and started working as a Production Carpenter on the tour of 42nd Street. In addition to the tour Jon also started refurbishing and creating scenery in the UK Productions stores.

Jon continued with this role for UK productions of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof, ‘Singing in the Rain, ‘The Kite Runner’, ‘Legally Blonde’ and ‘The Beekeeper of Aleppo’.

In 2015 Jon oversaw the construction of the new UK Productions scenic workshop which enabled Jon and the team to be able to create full sized theatrical productions. Following the creation of the workshop, Jon undertook the design and build of the 2017 tour of ‘Legally Blonde’ tour.

In addition to this, Jon has designed and built many of UK Productions hire sets for productions big and small. Titles include: ‘Shrek’, ‘Kinky Boots’, ‘Oliver’, ‘Guys and Dolls’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, as well as maintaining the huge stock of musicals and pantomime sets that belong to UK Productions.

In addition to working for UK Productions Jon has also been a production carpenter on the UK tour of ‘Hamilton’ and ‘Mary Poppins’ for Camron Mackintosh. As well as the UK tour of ‘a play what I wrote.’ For bath theatre royal productions.

Jon loves the challenge of building the weird and wonderful; he embraces the variety that the job brings and enjoys making the impossible possible.

Originally from the North East of England, Cameron trained at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and Guildford School of Acting. Having spent 10 years working as a performer, Cameron joined UK Productions in 2023. As a performer, some of Cameron’s credits include Love Beyond in Concert (London); The Simon and Garfunkel Story (West End, UK and International Tours); Big Girls Don’t Cry (UK Tour); Camelot (London Palladium); The Choir of Man; My Land’s Shore (Welsh Premier) and A Christmas Carol (Lyceum Theatre, London). His Director and Associate Director credits include: The Simon and Garfunkel Story (West End, UK and International Tours); Big Girls Don’t Cry (UK Tour) and several charity concerts including Freedom at Christmas (IJM - Regent Hall, London); West End Has Faith at Christmas (Home for Good - Regent Hall, London) and Beyond Christmas (Beaconsfield) Cameron is an associate artiste of Foolproof Creative Arts, an Scottish based Arts Charity.

As Head of Marketing, Andrew oversees the Marketing, Digital and Audience Development elements of UK Productions Ltd. Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and holds the position of Head of Audiences, Marketing and Sales at Blackpool's iconic Grand Theatre, and has been with the company for over 26-years leading audience insight, brand and digotal developments. Andrew's experience in Digital is extensive, working with leading agencies in Sales Revenue and Artificial Intelligence. Working with leading companies in their field worldwide such as, Activity Stream, crowdEngage, Spektrix, the Evergreen Agency, and many more. Audience Development practice includes working with TRG Arts, The Audience Agency who enable cultural organisations to use national data to increase their relevance, reach and resilience. The Audience Agency is funded by the Arts Council England, as a Sector Support Organisation, to lead on supporting cultural organisations to gain a deeper understanding of current and potential audiences. Additional partnerships include working with Katy Rains and Alan McGregor at Indigo on specific Audience Development projects (Customer Analysis). Indigo empowers the cultural sector to increase engagement with audiences and visitors through pragmatic problem-solving, and (vital) insights. The projects involved obtaining a real understanding of needs to better understand audiences, improve our work and to think bigger. Other areas include large scale Website Build/Developments, and Customer Experience Design (UX/User Journey) Development, working within the Entertainment and high-end Hospitality Industry (Customer Services and Journey). Most importantly, Andrew believes that we can work together to build a stronger sector in an open, collaborative approach so that we are all constantly sharing and learning.

Frankie first joined UK Productions in 2013 as a performer in Aladdin. Having experienced the rehearsal room and the stage firsthand, Frankie now brings that creative insight to the digital landscape, ensuring the online social media presence of UKP remains rooted in the spirit of its live shows.
With a background in design, content creation and videography, Frankie focuses on translating the creativity of live performance into engaging digital content. By combining a performer’s instincts with professional design experience, Frankie ensures our digital platforms reflect the same magic found on the UKP stage.

Theatre has been a part of Ellie’s life from an early age. Her passion for costume began whilst at school when she started working as a dresser at her local theatre, Ellie continued dressing productions throughout her studies, gaining hands on experience early on in her career. This early introduction to backstage sparked a career in wardrobe that has since taken Ellie across the UK and around the world. Before joining UK Productions, she worked extensively on national and international touring productions, holding both Wardrobe Manager and Deputy Wardrobe Manager positions. Over the years, she has developed a broad skill set in all aspects of wardrobe management.

Throughout Ellie’s career, she has supervised productions ensuring the smooth running of wardrobe operations. In addition to her management responsibilities, she has been involved in costume design, working closely with creatives to source costumes, fabrics and accessories that fulfil both artistic and operational requirements. This journey, from dressing local productions as a student to holding senior wardrobe positions on major touring productions, has given Ellie a deep appreciation for both the creative and technical elements of theatre.

Fleur began her career as an apprentice for curtain & upholstery company Marion Kaye. Finding she was skilled with her hands and that she had a keen eye for detail, she then moved to an embroidery company where she developed her machine and hand embroidery techniques.

This led her to the entertainment industry in 1996, when she started working for the imaging department at Pinewood Studios. She worked on TV productions and many blockbuster movies, brushing shoulders with Tom Cruise and other high-profile celebrities.

Wanting to diversify, in 2003 Fleur re-located to Blackpool where she joined Stageworks Worldwide. Using her creative skills, she produced hats, harnesses and prop costumes for their large-scale ice skating and seasonal productions. She spent over a decade with the company, thriving in the fast-paced environment.

For the last ten years in her busy role at UK productions, Fleur has created and maintained the many hats, headdresses and prop costumes used in every production. Her unique and creative work is often the finishing touch for a costume, bringing it to life and adding a touch of magic.

Charlie began her career with UK Productions in 2014, joining the company on work experience on The Kite Runner UK Tour in Edinburgh, whilst studying towards a BA (Hons) in Costume Design and Construction at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Following her graduation, she returned in 2016 as a full-time Wardrobe Trainee and has since grown significantly within the organisation, being appointed Production Workshop Manager and Creative Pattern Cutter in 2021.

Her production credits span a range of roles and scales. She worked as Maker on the Legally Blonde UK Tour (2017), before going on to serve as Head of Wardrobe on Peter Pan at the Grand Theatre Blackpool (2019) and Pantomonium (2020). More recently, Charlie has worked as Costume Cutter on The Kite Runner Broadway and Tour, and Around the World in 80 Days at The Dukes, Lancaster, demonstrating the breadth of her skills across both workshop and production environments.

Jo Day is the Child Protection Officer and Children's Co-ordinator for UK Productions, where she has been a valued member of the team for nearly 30 years. Alongside her work in theatre, Jo, in partnership with her mum, runs The Joanna School of Dance & Performing Arts in Guildford, nurturing young performers, championing excellence, creativity and safeguarding.

Cathy left Guildford Technical College with a Diploma in Business Studies and Finance and worked in various financial positions before joining the UKP family in 2006. Her first programme accreditation was for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in London’s West End. She deals with all the day-to-day finance and accounting operations within the company including the payroll for the various touring shows and pantomimes. She has also assisted with creating procedures for the set and costume rental departments, and is often one of the first voices you hear when you make contact with the company.
