Leon Kay

Leon trained at the Arts Educational School gaining a BA hons degree in Musical Theatre. Whilst training, he played a number roles including Pippin in Pippin, Dickon in The Secret Garden and Dave in The Full Monty. Leon’s theatre credits include Sgt Godley in Ripper the Musical (Covent Garden), The Emperor in Aladdin (Bournemouth Pavilion), ensemble in Children Will Listen, Stephen Sondheim’s 75th birthday gala (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane) and Preacher Carcroft in the original workshop cast recording of Spitting Distance (Royal National Theatre Studios). He has also appeared on television as a tango dancer in F**k Off I’m Small (BBC) and performed at the BBC’s Good Food Dinner in the world renowned hotel Claridge’s. He also recorded the demo of a new song from a new musical concept by Julian Woolford and Richard John (composers of The Railway Children musical). Most recently Leon recorded the original cast album of a new musical called The Circus. In between finishing college and starting rehearsals Leon took part in the workshop of a revised version of Nightingale the Musical playing the role of William. In between the first and second leg of South Pacific Leon is thrilled to be playing the title role in Dick Whittington at the Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple.
