Phil Barley

Phil graduated in 2002 with a BA (hons) degree in Performing Arts from Middlesex University and the State University of New York. Most recently, Phil has played the role of Dean Martin in The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas. Over the past four years this role has taken Phil from the Strand and Savoy Theatres in the West End to countless venues across the UK, Europe and the US playing with trios, through to Big Bands and all the way up to 43-piece orchestras.

Other roles include: the Journalist in The Ripper Concert (New Players Theatre); Drago in Rebellion (Hackney Empire); Anthony Jones in Bad Girls the Musical (Garrick Theatre), for which he recorded the DVD and original cast soundtrack; Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain (Aberystwyth Arts Centre); and McCann in The Birthday Party (Black Box Theatre, New York).

In 2003 Phil took on the position of Entertainment Manager aboard MV Discovery and performed his own show A Tribute to the Swing Era. Phil has been a fan of swing music for many years and performs with various jazz bands throughout London and the UK. Last year he performed to a capacity crowd at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Bar in a concert he put on in aid of the Meningitis Trust.

Phil is also the co-creator of Broadway by Design. Developed over the last 12 months, BBD offers completely bespoke corporate event entertainment. As a result Phil has already co-written, directed, arranged and performed shows in England and Scotland and plans to take the business onwards and upwards.
