Richard Colson

Richard has worked extensively in both theatre and television for over 30 years.

His West End credits include: The Young Visiters, Oliver!, My Fair Lady, Little Lies, Me and My Girl (for 22 months!) and most recently Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Number one national tours include: The Merry Widow and Me and My Girl. Repertory seasons include: Yeovil, Weston-Super-Mare, Chesterfield, Westcliff-on-Sea and Peterborough. Also, several thriller seasons at Theatre Royal, Nottingham and in Edinburgh. He appeared in the very successful and enjoyable tours of Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel, Jekyll and Hyde and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers which transferred to the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, for UK Productions. Richard played Prince/Apothecary in Romeo and Juliet at Stafford Castle. In pantomime he has played parts as diverse as Mother Goose and Abanazar. He played the King in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield and last Christmas was delighted to be appearing in panto at home in Chesterfield! His career includes a cruising season for Shaw Savil—two transatlantic crossings on the QE2 and playing Father Christmas at a Builders’ Merchants and on BBC Radio Sheffield! Richard was also a backing singer on two ice shows in Brighton.

His television work includes: Crossroads, Coronation Street, Seaforth, Pendle Witches and Crown Court.

Favourite musicals: Crazy for You, Underneath the Arches, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, Me and My Girl and he is delighted to now be appearing in Beauty and the Beast.
