This new tour is brilliantly performed with the towering figure of Sam Kane giving the performance of his career.
This is a classic of its time, and ours, providing an evening of exquisite and undiminished joy. Sam Kane (Billy Bigelow) and Jane Mark (Julie Jordan) are superb throughout. Wayne Sleep’s choreography and musical staging are exciting to watch, the second act ballet is dazzling.
Show’s an all round winner. Billy Bigelow could have been written for Sam Kane, the chorus showed vitality and versatility. One of the best touring shows to come here, this one will be talked about for a long time.
Simply superb from its spectacular opening to the tear-jerking end. The standing ovation it so richly deserved seemed inadequate for a cast which shines throughout. The best musical stage show you are likely to see this year.

All you want from a musical, a production which properly displays the genius of its writers but which also gives Sam Kane a role to treasure. Wayne Sleep’s lively dance numbers are delivered with great panache.
