Graeme Henderson

Graeme trained as a dancer, worked mainly as an actor and has now become a choreographer!! He was in the original David Merrick version of 42nd Street at Drury Lane in 1984 as an ensemble member and later went on to play the leading role of Billy Lawlor opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Graeme has worked for many years in repertory, the National Theatre, West End, television and film. A hugely experienced actor and musical comedy performer, his first job was as Taplow in The Browning Version at the National Theatre in 1980 and then in 1987 he returned to play Cis Farringdon opposite Nigel Hawthorne in The Magistrate. Other acting roles include Bennet in Another Country (Leeds Playhouse), Jerry in Zoo Story (Ipswich), Angel Clare in Tess of the D’Urbevilles (West Yorkshire Playhouse), George Pepper in Red Peppers (Perth), PC Collins in Rumours (Chichester), Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing (Ipswich), Byron Turkey in Fat Pig (Leicester Haymarket), Flute in The Dream (Sheffield Crucible). He has played Ugly Sister and several panto and light opera roles for Opera Della Luna and also Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me, Kate at Regent’s Park.

Graeme also teaches advanced American rhythm tap at Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College and Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama and has guested at most of the top London colleges. He has won two coveted Carl Alan awards in recognition of his services to dance, and regularly lectures and adjudicates for all the major dance societies. He is very proud to be an honorary member of both the IDTA and the BATD dance organisations.
