Sheryl Lafferty
Sheryl was born and raised in Scotland where she trained at the Dance Academy under the tuition of Louise Mac Lauchlan and Sonja Messer. At the age of 17 she
went on to train at the Bird College of Performing Arts, graduating in 2005 with
a BA (hons) degree.
During her time at college she performed in numerous productions; most notably
she played Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Studio Theatre); Eliza Doolittle in Hey Mr Producer (Shaw Theatre); Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire (Studio Theatre); and most recently Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Albany Theatre). Furthermore she worked professionally in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax and toured Greece as a member of the Bird Theatre Company.
Upon leaving college Sheryl joined the West End cast of Saturday Night Fever as Gina/cover Shirley (Apollo Victoria Theatre) and she appeared in the first UK tour of the Donmar production of Guys and Dolls.
Last Christmas Sheryl played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle under Lyme.
She is delighted to be joining the UK tour of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and would like to thank her parents, Peter and Laura for all their continual love
and support.
