David Barrett
David was born and raised in Bedford. He trained at Mountview Theatre School, graduating in 2002. Whilst in training his credits included: Daniel in Once on This Island, Ritchie in A Chorus Line and Tommy in Annie Get Your Gun.
Since leaving, David has been fortunate enough to appear in national tours of Godspell, as swing, Steve in Summer Holiday, Cordell Hull in Annie, and most recently Quade, cover Commander Harbison in South Pacific on which he was also Dance Captain and Resident Director. In 2005 he was part of the very successful Malaysian tour of Oliver!, after which he appeared as Yonkers in the acclaimed production of Gypsy at Dundee Rep.
David then went on to create the role of Eddie/Freak in a brand new production written by the Heather Brothers called
Teen Scream, which transferred to the Edinburgh Festival.
David has also been involved in several pantomimes: Cinderella at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage; Dick Whittington in Swansea; Beauty and the Beast, Treasure Island and the Pirates of the Caribbean and Sleeping Beauty all at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln.
This will be David’s fifth national tour and he is very much looking forward to being part of the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers adventure. He would of course like to thank his family for all their continued love and support... where would he be without you?
